Meet the Council Members
Maddux | Council Chair
Maddux is an eleventh grade student attending Turner Fenton Secondary School, in Brampton, Ontario. Due to his extensive work with youth groups, Maddux will serve as the Chair for the Xenia ASD Youth Council. He is passionate about social change and hopes to help overcome barriers that people with ASD face in accessing live music. In his spare time, Maddux enjoys going out with friends and sleeping.
Simon | Communications Officer
Simon is 16 years old and lives in Milton, Ontario. Simon has joined the Xenia Youth Advisory Council to help create a more accessible experience for autistic youth, as they believe live music is something all people should be able to experience comfortably. Simon plays the saxophone and loves jazz music.
Nathan | Animator/Energizer
Nathan lives in Toronto. He was in the Toronto Beaches Children’s Chorus and has sung in Carnegie Hall with them. He starred in the short film Oxford (by Lauren Belanger and Ryan Nesbitt, can be found on Vimeo), for which he was nominated for a Joey Award. He had a small role in the movie Pixels starring Adam Sandler. He released the electronic music pieces “Today’s The Day” and “Through the Mountains” under the name Gentle Dragon, which can be found in online music stores and streaming services. His miniature for string quartet, “Through the Dragon’s Cave,” is being performed by The Ralston String Quartet, The Thalea String Quartet, and Quator Despax, with performances in Canada, the USA, and South Korea. He is passionate about helping everyone experience the joy of music safely and happily, and believes Xenia concerts is doing just that.
Jonah | Steward
Jonah is 14 years old and lives in Toronto, Ontario. He believes that a world with inclusion is a better world, so he looks forward to helping Xenia further create more accessible concerts for all. Despite having never been on a council before, Jonah is ecstatic to assist in the creation of a new era for the Xenia concerts. Jonah enjoys playing the clarinet and piano, doing mathematics, composing music, and talking with peers.
Charlie | Discord Channel Coordinator
Charlie is a new member of our advisory council. He strives to create an amazing experience for people across the spectrum, as he believes that it is important for neurotypical people and people on the spectrum alike, to experience live music. Charlie is passionate about music, and plays drums, piano, and also composes music in his free time.
