Everybody deserves access to high-quality live performances, and that’s why we’ve partnered with Alzheimer Society of Toronto and Baycrest@Home to deliver intergenerational concerts that are welcoming for those with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and more. It is now common knowledge that musical activities offer a broad range of benefits for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer Society reminds us that music also “has the potential to increase physical and social activity; reignite older memories; and improve sleep, mood, cognition, communication, and overall quality of life.” With help from our presenting partner TO Live, we work with the Alzheimer Society of Toronto to offer the psychosocial benefits of interactive, accessible musical events to people with dementia, their caregivers, and their families.
