Xenia Concerts to debut at Sheena’s Place

This September, Xenia Concerts Inc. and Sheena’s Place will be working together for the first time to present a concert at the idyllic Sheena’s Place house, located in the heart of Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood.

Sheena’s Place is a registered charity that offers hope and support to individuals, families, and friends affected by eating disorders. They provide a wide range of professionally facilitated support groups and services, including a number of Expressive Arts Groups that encourage participants to find their “voice” through various art mediums such as painting, writing, and music. All of their services are completely free of charge to their members.

On September 12th 2018, the Laura Swankey Quartet will present a concert at Sheena’s Place as part of the organization’s Annual Client Art Show in honour of Jennifer Haberman, which showcases some of the art work being done by members of their community. “Emily, Patrick, Andrew and I are really looking forward to sharing our program with the listeners at Sheena’s Place. We really value the work that is being done there and we look forward to connecting with and supporting this community!” says Laura Swankey.

“We are blown away by the wonderful work Xenia Concerts is doing, and are thrilled to be partnering with them at our Annual Client Art Show in Honour of Jennifer Haberman.” says Lauren Drouillard, Program Manager at Sheena’s Place.  “Xenia Concerts shares our value of and commitment to accessibility for all members of the community, and through this partnership, Sheena’s Place will be able to offer a professional concert and extension of our arts show, to all members of our community, completely free of charge. We hope you will join us for an evening that is sure to be inspiring, fun, and filled with talented artists!”

This concert will be open to the general public. Both organizations welcome all music and art lovers to this evening that will celebrate love and resilience. We hope to see you there!
